Topic: Help Valuing My Dad's Steels |

My dad, a member of this forum for years, passed away in 2010 and we've been storing a pretty formidable arsenal of steels and resonators since then. In the past two years we've narrowed down what is to be given away, what we're keeping ourselves, and what would be best suited finding a new home. A couple people have given ballpark figures on the steels in the latter category, but we were directed here for more opinions before we sell them. If anyone can help with any of these in giving a general value that would be immensely appreciated. The five we're dealing with at present are a Fender Dual Professional from the early fifties, a Jerry Byrd Frypan 8 string, a Fender Deluxe 8 string, a Gibson Console Grande, and a Fender Quad Stringmaster. Attached below are pictures of each. Again, if anyone has any information whatsoever it would be more than appreciated.

Hi Carter......I loved hanging out with your dad......he was a great guy and player.....
The quad should fetch anywhere between $2700 - $3000........IMO |

Carter, Dave is sorely missed by all of us who knew him. This must be tough on all of you.
That is a nice collection of steels your dad left behind. I will send you an email of what I think the values are of his collection.

Carter,
Your Dad was well liked and respected here. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I am betting your Dad is a very happy and most fortunate Man where he's at now.
Feel most free to email me for any questions you might have and need reasonably quick answers to; Although the Forum here is the very best place to get answers over a several day period.

EDITING: After surfing around the SGF it seems apparant that you have ample Friends and associates of your Dad that are giving you good and qualified advice on the steels you have for sale.
I surmise that having a steel that belonged to your Dad has extra value to a number of SGF Members. For many of us we seem to feel the spirit in guitars and steels.
