George, I will email a copy of the copedent.

I find so many players shedding the D-10s, going to the single necks....and one of the main reasons I hear is, "I just don't get to play the 6th tuning at all." Or, "It doesn't pay me to learn the 6th tuning (or carry the extra neck), I'll never get to use it."

I will tell anyone interested in learning C6th, that if you learn the tuning, you WILL use it...!!! You will look for every single bandstand opportunity to switch necks and grab a handful of chords. C6th is the most wonderful tuning for extended chord voicings. You can get "parts" of the voicings on E9th, but to get the fullness, there is nothing like the broad strokes of the neck that captures it.

I have played behind several singers down here who are used to playing behind steel players....REALLY good E9th steel players. The moment they hear extended jazz voicings coming from a steel guitar, the double take and the look on their face is priceless.

Charlie, if you pay for the gas, it's yours.....BTW, gas is $100/gal in Lafayette now....

Rains Guitars

Post by Mark Greenway »

I just bought a Rains, and guys, these guitars are to die for. The mechanics on these guitars are great. Stay in tune and smooth as butter to play. Easy to work on too if you want to re-arrange anything.

This deserves to be at the top again. So, bump bump bump.
