The first ACL show I saw many years ago had Alvin Crowe and a young steel player named Herb Steiner. The song I remember best was "Nyquil Blues" that just happened to be written by that very talented steel guitar player...Love ya Herb!!!

2 American inventions for music : Banjo first, pedal steel second (modified from some other stringed instrument I`m sure)

When the pedal steel banjo comes out we can really make some noise that half the public won`t like, THE NEW AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL maybe it`ll chase out some Foreigners in high up places in our country that think were nuts in the head, Then we can cry like a bunch of babies to get our country back on track... Just a thought

Dont ask me where this came from....LOL

About three weeks ago,I saw Lyle Lovett. He had Buck Reid playing for him.The first time I saw a "COUNTRY" act in long time. I remember watching it in the early years, and you would see people like Alan Jackson, George Strait, George Jones. Now they show more alternative rock and heavy metal.Like Aaron Tippon says, "What This Country Needs, Is Little More STEEL GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've purchased a couple DVDs of prior great shows that were originally broadcast on Austin City Limits/PBS many years ago.

Waylon with Mooney, Hag with Norm, - fantastic stuff.

Would anyone have a VCR copy (since thats all that was availabe back then !) of The Nashville SuperPickers ?

I have the LP of that show.....having the video copy of that show would be a real treat.

Thanks !

Bill Flores, your playing is just fine. It was your volume pedal. :)
