Believe it or not.....I got two phone calls and two invites to play some 'real' Hawaiian music with some really great Hawaiian musicians in this area. One is for mid-July, the other mid-August.

The first to call was the bassman used on the first session for the Hawaiian CD's on which I appeared some years back. These are the ones that took first place honors in the Hawaiian Music Awards competition.

The second is another well known Hawaiian music maker who even has dancers in his show.

Sounds like great fun! (I've waited a long time for those calls.) At my age, I just hope that I don't check out before the show-dates arrive.

Great news, Ray. If you would be so kind as to list the times and places, I know many of us would love a chance to see and hear you play. Thanks in advance!

Ray; Back in the late '50s my dad brought home a record called "An Hour of Hawaiian Music". The cover had a painting of a smoking volcano, if I remember correctly. I don't recall the names of the artists or the songs, but that's was where I first began listening to steel guitar--it's what got me hooked! Very Happy
Do you recall anything about this album?

Many thanks to YOU Alan........you're always a gentleman and your thoughts and words are truly appreciated. They mean so much more than all of the unnecessary criticism......

Ray.......I seem to recall the cover of some sheet music or possibly the album you've described but as far as recalling any specific music or tunes, regretably, I don't. Sorry 'bout that.

Seems most of the Hawaiian music of earlier days always had a smoking volcano on the cover.
