I know that the Campbell Brothers were hurt deeply by the church turning on them. The church leaders didn't want them to play outside the church and ostracized them for doing so. There was a lot of politics and jealousy couched in God's name. If you've ever had the chance to spend any time with the Campbells, you know how grounded and spiritual they are. I hope they can get their career back in gear.

Man, what a shame to hear this.

The last time I saw them play was at Joes's store (Amoeba Music in San Francisco) where Joe had put on a free concert.

I had seen them maybe a year prior at Blues and Biscuits in SF and one other time before that, we really hit it off in talking after the shows and when I saw them at Amoeba, Darick Campbell gave me a big hug and remarkably - remembered my name.

Some of the most gracious people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I am the director of my church band here in Sonoma County, and I always loved the Campbells approach when they were out on tour, delivering a positive uplifting message without being "preachy."

I just hate to hear stories like this. It sounds like they'll be okay, but that home church in Rochester, NY I know means an awful lot to them.

This was really hard on the family, and I was very glad when it was resolved. I know that this kind of pressure puts a damper on the creative process, but the Campbells are back and coming on strong!

One of the things that the church used against the Campbells was that they had me play during the Millenial celebration for the church (a non-member), so they were joking for a while that it was all my fault.

Or I hope they were joking. Smile
