Hi everyone! Since I meet William Litaker over the internet and by telephone calls, this legend of a pedal steel guitar player and now teacher is taking me from a struggling newbie steel player to up the ladder to become a professional steel player.
William has a Saturday learning session online now for those who are struggling to learn this fine instrument.William's "Beginners Course" is fantastic and comes with a work manual and a DVD. I have ordered some of his DVD instructional video's for different songs and they come with a "CD" backing track and they are fantastic. All I can say about William is he can take you to the top to be a professional steel player if you are struggling.
After over 30 years of experience playing his pedal steel guitar and now teaching the pedal steel to new beginners, William's passion for the pedal steel guitar really shows when he is teaching his methods to the beginner the first time. William makes sure you understand his instructions either online or by video, every time he teaches a new song, a new lick, or something he made up. His passion to teach new steel players really shines! William really does go the extra mile for his students and customers on every thing he does.
I really like his Share-a-Lick video's because I can go to his website and choose which new lick to practice on.
I don't want to forget my other pedal steel mentors that also helped me get started and that is Carl Johnson,Mickey Adams, Bruce Bouton and Dave Hartley. I got lots of help from these fine steel players from the beginning and I owe them a lot for their time and for giving me some of the equipment to get started.
I never knew William Litaker gave online live learning sessions on the internet until I listen to one of his songs and went to his website one day. For 2 months now I have learned that the steel guitar is easy to learn from watching Williams live Saturday's learning sessions and watching his really fantastic instructional DVD'S with a backing track "CD" for the song.
Some else I like and that is William actually calls you on your phone and makes sure you are learning his lessons and if you need any help. You can't find that kind of support these days for free.
If you are a newbie or are wanting to learn a new song, just go to William Litaker's website and you will be glad you did.

I have every Live session and can say just the exercises, intros and fill licks that come with the selected tunes is worth the $5 a week not to mention the pure entertainment of Williams refreshing down home sometimes intentionally, sometimes accidentally humorous, unpretentious live approach. |

I have several of his Saturday classes saved on my computer, so now I can go back and brush up and review any of them.
Taking lessons from William is well worth the money. He is a great teacher.
I agree with all of the above posts. Give William a try if you need some help. |

A short time after the live session William emails the url for the download of the flv vid, save and watch whenever you like. As a bonus you are not interrupted by commercials. I have to do this at least half the time. I have all the sessions and tab saved on CDs. |

I think #90 session is coming up this Saturday June 29th. Stuart, did William have a session for the song The Other Woman? I like to learn it, because it has some good fills.
Any newbie's reading this post,if you are struggling in your playing and need help, you can not beat the price that William has for you to learn from his sessions, only $5.00 per week or $20.00 per month. I always sign up for the monthly rates for the sessions.
I just what to stress the importance of having a great mentor like William because if you don't have a mentor, you will always be struggling to learn new things the hard way.
Get on board this weekend and you will be glad you did.
Have a great day! |

I just want to say thanks for all the nice post to keep this topic going for William.
Here is my new video of me playing my steel from the techniques that William has taught me so far. The timing, the notes to play, the pedals and knee levers are all in this song from Williams techniques with my own style of playing.
I encourage all of the newbie's who are struggling in their playing to join up with William so you can be a better steel player.
Thanks guy's and thank you William!

Don It would be faster for me to transcribe "The Other Women" from the recording than to find it in my collection.
To me tab is a book that I read and then put on the shelf.
Unfortunately I have a very large collection and no filing system. I do know I have it by Emmons but where?!
So I guess I'm not much help. |
