I've considered your 'digging comments'....

For Mike, Steve, Ron and Jerome.....

I've not rec'd any other negative comments about how the JBFC site does or doesn't function. Over the years, the critical comments have only come in clusters like in this instance. I have compiled a list of those that seem to delight in this kind of conduct. Since one of those detractors has left us, much of the cheap shots have diminished, until now.

My alternate choice to putting up with this crap is to merely close the JBFC site.

Early on, I felt there were enough folks out there that loved Jerry's music and that would enjoy it as much as I myself. Perhaps I was very wrong. I have a superb collection of records, tape and photo's. I can enjoy them as often as I care to and whenever I choose to.

It would be a lot less stressful for ME......to simply let go of this project. If that's what you want me to do, just let me know. I can pull the plug anytime. I'm tired of all the crap that some of you posters on this Forum have dedicated your lives to.

For those of you that are counting, as of three minutes ago, I show some 97 photo's in Jerry's Photo's section.
Ray, get a grip! I didn't take a cheap shot at you or your site. WTF? I'm doing you a favor by telling you that the new photos you posted were not showing up in any of my browsers for 2 days.

FWIW, now the photos are showing up. Cut it with the drama already--I'm your friend, remember?

So, Ray, are you just going to sweep this under the rug and hope that it goes away? I think you owe an apology to some of us, myself included.

If you can't accept some constructive/helpful criticism about your site then I don't know what to tell you. Stop portraying yourself as a victim of attacks by a few a "delight in this kind of conduct". Did you ever think that maybe the reason the same folks are making comments is because they/we are the ones who are interested in your site and keep coming back?

Hi Mike,
It looks like that might be the case. Oh well. I just wanted to say I am honored to be included on any list with you - even if it is Ray's!

Ray, Bo and I are just having a little fun here on the topic and I think you know we respect you greatly both as a person and a Steel Player. You have generated the only interest we’ve ever had in Hawaiian Steel Guitar. Prier to your topics and website we only thought of Hawaiian Steel Guitar music as something from cartoons long before SpongeBob.
Have they ever used any of Jerry's music in SpongeBob?

Ron if I get Ray to send me the tab for the lap steel version of songs like “Tiny Bubbles” could you get me a job over there? I’m playing the lakes here this summer. I think that has helped prepare me for the heat and half naked women I’ll have to struggle with over there.

Even if you jazzed it up like Byrd did so it was actually cool listening, you'd probably make better $ busking the beachfront and be free of lousy hotel mgmt. Com'on over, I'll show you all the shady spots, and were the 100% naked ladies are!

I've seen old pictures from there where the guys are playing Steel Guitar and wearing grass. I read where they don't do that anymore because the grass don't grow as tall leaving the grass a little too short.
I guess PSG would be out of the question wearing grass. Even with a basic setup you'd look like you had a Crawford Cluster under there.

Well Ray, I really like looking around your site and appreciate the pics and info. I like music history and I believe it is important to preserve this stuff where everyone can enjoy it. I have no trouble navigating your stuff....keep it up....AL

Thanks Alan........ I sincerely appreciate your kind words. It's great to know that 'someone' out there in cyberland appreciates at least something' that I do. I'm sure it could be done better but I do my best.

The purpose of the site was to encourage people to read through it from time to time. I routinely update the text content as soon as something new surfaces.

If someone finds it too difficult to go to the site, then simply scroll down the index on the left margin and then click on a topic about which they hope to learn more, then what can I do?

I like Ray's site, too, but he apparently takes it personally when someone suggests that there is an issue and accuses them of plotting against him.

To this entire thread I'm thinking of the overused (but appropriate) quote, "Much ado about nothing".

With that I'd be inclined to agree.

A nice addition to the site would be a copy of Ray's Nixonian enemies list.

Hale Kimo Ohana means - - - 'House of Jim's Family'.
George
That could be , but -- that look like a typical stilt type construction on the islands -- not sure it had a basement like Ray said --- Quote
“the photo was apparently taken in the basement of "KIMAS" house. “
