Donna so sad to hear of your loss. Your dad was such a happy person to be around and always had a smile and kind words. He attended our Central Ky show for many years with your dear mother and I always looked forward to seeing them each year. I know many are praying for you in this time of sorrow and Myra and I are certainly among them. May God bless and keep you. Al/Myra Vanderpool

So sad to here about Don. He was the greatest steel guitar fan I've ever met, and a super guy too. :(

Sorry to hear this, Donna. I met your father in 2000 in Knoxville, and his enthusiasm for the steel guitar was contagious.

Death is the gateway to our home. The loss of a parent is devastating. Donna, be assured you will be in the thoughts and prayers of many people as you go through this most difficult time. One day we have the promise of seeing our loved ones again. May God comfort your family in the days and months ahead.

I remember Don Hammitt very well. We had many conversations together and he brought you to the St. Louis Steel Guitar Conventions many times since you were 10 years old. He will be sadly missed. Scotty

Donna. Please accept my condolences. Your dad and I didn't really know each other, but on those few occasions when we met in St. Louis he seemed like a nice guy, and it was very clear that he loved you very much.

Donna,

I am just now reading of your father's passing. I was so saddened to learn of the news. He was a great guy and always had a smile on his face and something funny to say. He and your mother complemented each other well. I'm sure she's happy to have him back by her side now. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Donna, though we all live with the fact that death is a certain fact of life,we are never ready to give up our loved ones. It leaves but one thing to do, and that is be thankful for the time we had them, and make our plans for seing them later.

I so enjoyed seeing your growing up years at St Louis and your development as such an outstanding player. May Gods richest blessings and great memories always be with you.
