I believe the last time I had one done it was around $175 with a JBL kit.

Bump for the OP. I have one of these, and had it reconed by Weber using a D120 kit. I have it in a blackface Deluxe Reverb and it sounds great.

How can you re-cone a 15" speaker with a 12" re-cone kit?

Anyway, does the speaker work? You didn't mention that, so I assume so. That will help get the right response for you.

Jeez...good question

It's a K120. This is what I get for staying up way past my bedtime. Sorry I messed up your thread, Bill.

If I remember rightly, the original post said something about needing a recone. It has been edited. I can't be sure, but I thought about it too, cause I have one exactly like it (8ohm) that seems to have a short in it...works then doesnt...and one post mentions a 175 dollar recone...I don't want to spend that much. SEE ABOVE

The 8ohm E-130 is not in my Evans for sale...it's 4ohm and in the amp

Not important now. My friend found a K130 somewhere else.

Richard I hope anyone who smokes will quit.
They WILL KILL YOU. Summer devastates anyone with COPD.. Indiana has some of the WORST weather you can have as far as heat and humid conditions. When it gers like it is here I pretty much stay in the house:)

Bill, hope you're feeling better.

Here's info on reconing:

http://www.speakerrepair.com/ocsrepairprice.html

There are two prices - one with original parts ($264) and one with aftermarket ($145).
