This is a killer CD right here: Complete Lamplighter Recordings 1945-46
No steel, but features Barney Bigard on clarinet and the great Allen Reuss on guitar, though. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

When Speedy West joined Cliffie Stone's "Dinner Bell Roundup"on the Radio each day at noon, and the "Hometown Jamboree" TV show his recording career really took off. Cliffie Stone was Capitol Record's primary A & R man for Country and Novelty Artists. He gave Speedy the opportunity and Speedy stepped up to the plate. Of course, that was Speedy on the Tennessee Ernie and Kay Starr record ! Cliffie Stone was Ernie's Manager for years. _________________ Sacramento Western Swing Society Hall of Fame, 1992 |

Speedy wasn't only a fast and flashy player, he also had a lot of feeling for slower, ballad-type songs and even recorded several great Hawaiian tunes.
Kind Regards, Walter _________________ www.lloydgreentribute.com |
