Session Ace Mike Johnson now uses Live Steel Strings!
Live Steel Strings is happy to announce Nashville Recording Session Ace Mike Johnson is one of our newest customers.
Mike called me yesterday and said that he was getting ready to put his 4th set of Live Steel Strings on his guitar and had to have some more quick!
“I don’t want to use any other strings except yours!”
Mike went on to say that even Live Steel plain strings sound better and asked me if we were coating them with something.
Mike Johnson has been nominated by the Academy of Country Music “Steel Guitar Player of the Year” in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. Mike won the coveted title in 2006.
Mike records with Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss and just too many to name them all.
You will have to try Live Steel Strings to understand the difference.

Sid is right. These strings have really impressed me. The wound strings are fantastic, and I'm blown away with the unwound strings too.
I have put The Live Steel Strings on my Franklin, my Emmons, and my Sho-Pro. More than anything, I love the way they sound. There seems to be so much less buzz in the high strings, and a much thicker overall sound.
When it comes to playing any instrument, getting the sound from your hands to your ears involves
so many many varibles. The strings are a much more important part of your tone than you might think.
After using (3)sets, I'm really excited about the idea of using these LIVE STEEL STRINGS "all the time on all my guitars".

Hey Roger,
So far, I've only used the NICKEL, which I sure like a lot.

Live Strings
I Have To Agree With what everybody here Says I purchased a couple of E9th stainless sets from Sid and installed them on my ZUM Hybrid and All I can say is WOW Unbelieveable, If any of you guys or gals haven't tried them you need to do so I'm No Mike Johnson when it comes to playing but I think Mike and I are on the same train here, Unbelieveable strings, I agree about the buzz and it also seems as to not take the bar pressure as older strings also I've always had chime issues for being consistant but I think these strings have helped cure this problem also. GREAT JOB SID I'll be ordering more. BJ

Re: Live Strings
Bobby, I am very happy that you share Mike's feelings about the strings. As unusual as this may sound, we are not doing this venture for the money.
One thing for sure, there is no money in selling steel guitar strings because the market is just way too small.
Additionally, our strings cost a little more and some players are looking for the economical solution. So, our target is the player that is looking for a string that is as high quality as the equipment he/she uses.
We are mainly doing this for self entertainment and to show that a better string can be made if someone is willing to put the effort forth and do something different.
