Message on my puter says it might not be genuine MS. Scam? Dale.

Mine did that. I had to validate it with Microsoft. Took a minute or two. Did they give you a link to click on Microsoft?

What version and service pack of Windows are you running?

Was is validated prior to this message appearing?

Is the PC a brand name, or self-built?

Have you experienced any failed Windows Updates recently?

This is Win 7 pro with SP1. Home built. Don't recall any previous problems. Clicked control panel and system, scrolled down and there was the genuine seal with a validation number. Thinking it was either a glitch or a scam.

Take a look at some of the most recent search results on the subject of "false Windows not genuine message". It is a glitch alright!
