Gary Carter-Apple Jack with Willie Cantu

Post by Kevin Hatton »

Gary Carter playing Tom Brumley's "Apple jack" on the Marty Stuart Show with original Buckaroo Willie Cantu on drums. Impeccable timing. Anyone else catch it? It doesn't get any better than this! Way to go Gary and Willie.

I just watched it, too. Great playing by Gary of course! The Last Buckaroo, Willie Cantu, did quite a fine job as well! Could anyone else not hear Kenny Vaughn? Last week, I Think it was Gary Carter who you couldn't hear. Anyone else noticing this lately?

You know its interesting guys. I have Verizon Fios T.V. and the sound is crystal clear stereo with Kenny's guitar coming through loud and clear. Never have a mix problem.

I have to say you are very lucky to have something like this show on your TV's. Is it weekly or monthly?

Every Saturday night, you might be able to get it via the internet. RFDTV might have a link. I will look it up when I have the time.

It looks like for $15.00 a month you can access all the RFD-TV programs in the archive. This would give you a lot of good watching. Just search RFD-TV and you will be set.

Yes Niels, as you can see in the Face Book clips the band plays LIVE for taping.

The guest upright bass player, whom they referred to as "Superman", was Kent Blanton, husband of Donna Hammitt Blanton.

Thanks Kevin, there has been a couple times the lead being played didn't seem to mesh with what I was seeing. Probably was just looking at the wrong spot. I thought maybe they taped the audio separate.

I noticed one episode on that surf song they play at the end looked like it was pre recorded, other than that everything looks live to me.

Everything is live, but sometimes the video is off a few frames. So that gives the illusion that we aren't playing it live, but trust me it is.

Cool Peter! Thx for the link!! Yeah, that's not the mix I got. I've got cable through Time Warner. RFD is offered on an extra "digital tier" for $5 month, including 4 other channels. I've got an LG 5.1 surround sound that I watch the show through.

Like I said before, Kenny wasn't coming through at all. Sometimes it Gary's steel.

Could something be happening to the mix when it's sent out to different providers for broadcast?

Todd, if they have Verizon Fios fiber optic in your area consider switching. Vast difference in picture quality and sound. I did.
