Steel on the Opry goes through Tommy's Webb set-up. Kinda' like the Peavey that Weldon had in there. You might have time to throw down a stomp-box or two, but if you have a blowout.....forget about it. You get all of a few seconds to get set and ready for your slot. That's it....a monitor? If you ain't got a tech on your side lookin' out for you......you can forget that too. In that commercial break before you play, it's balls to the wall and everybody tryin' to find inputs and adjust amps that they're not used to. When someone you see on that show plays and sounds as good as Chad, that speaks volumes for his talent and professionalism.
I thought Chad sounded great too! I'll have to admit, I felt a flutter when I saw that Fessenden on the Grand Ole Opry. Congrats to Jerry, all his hard work and perseverance is finally paying off!

Thanks Jeff, I kinda thought all the visiting steel players had to use a Central Rig ,due to set-up time, but didn't know it was TW's.
I've played venues simular to the Opry, and certianly do understand how tight set-up time can get.
Bobbe, I really don't know who Chad has been influenced by,but I hope he doesn't ever change anything about the style he has,
he's a killer.
I'm paying closer attention to the Fessenden from now on.
Can't wait for the convention to test drive one.

hey don't I get credit for Chad's tone as well, I shared the driving with jerry to get the guitar there, 23 hours staight, anybody out there spent 23 hours straight with jerry in a minivan? nashville was great, met the great bobbe seymour (I've been to the mountain top), Dan Dowd put us up in Kentucky, wouldn't let us spend a dime, great guy, I have to believe jerry will get quite a few orders, these guitars play, sound, look, great, with jerry's service behind every one

Pretty easy to know who influenced Chad, Al, his Father, is a great steel player in his own right. I had the pleasure of meeting Chad a few years back in Branson. Al called me up and I went over to their motel and talked with them in Branson. Two really great people who truely love pedal steel guitar! Jerry is another good person in our business, a guy who has worked really hard and earned everyone's respect. Yes, Jerry builds a great guitar!
