I recently purchased a Line 6 Pod, the original kidney shaped red one. I know some of you have presets available for this thing and I have been trying to find some comments using the search engine here. Too broad for me to get anything usefull. Does anyone have a link to share?

Which model of the POD did you buy? The original POD wasn't much for pedal steel, but the XT and X3 are.

I have some progrms (Line 6 calls them "tones") that can be downloaded and loaded into an XT or X3 and possibly the HD.

The first thing you should do is go to the Line 6 site and download the free "Monkey" program. That will install drivers on the PC, allow updating, etc. The free Line 6 "Gearbox" program is for modifying or generating "tones" on the PC.

Thanks, Jack. I did get the original Pod. I bought it because it was so cheap($70) on Craigs List with the carrying case and it was in like new condition. I liked the tap feature for echo. I used it at a gig last Saturday night and was not happy with the tone. Thanks for the input. I may use it with my guitar or just as a trade for something down the line.

Yeah, even the HD desktop and the HD500 use different patches. I didn't know this until after I bought one of each. Thanks Line 6. They are both great boxes though, I use the HD for steel, and the HD500 with a JTV Variax for guitar.
