Looking for a cheap dobro 6 or 8 string.

What do you consider "cheap"? The Rondo SX resonator guitars are the least expensive models I've seen that I'd recommend, but they don't have eight string models. For that you'll need to consider the Gold Tone Beard models.

If I were you, I would buy a used dobro that sounds decent and you may get extras. I have no idea how the Rondo sounds.........Brad? any idea? Cheap bros' can sound awful, but you can learn on em. Play it or listen to it if you can before purchase or have some type return policy. My 2 cents.
