The first time I've ever felt shorted w/my Uni tuning!!!!! The TW instructional video demos some of his rock rythm riffs using the 9th (D) string. Any universal players out there found a way to get those sounds???

You can get the open notes by raising your 9th string B-D and 10th string G#-B. I don't recall the lick you're talking about, but if it uses the 10th string raised along with the 9th string and 8th string, you're still out of luck.

You could always get a 13 string Universal like mine and keep the D string.
