Replacement Pickup for Emmons P/P.

I`ve been thinking about replacing the pickup on the E9 neck of my 1982 Emmons P/P. I would like oppinions please.

My first choice: ANOTHER EMMONS SINGLE COIL
IF you have noise problems and would prefer a humbucker: THE LAWRENCE 910

Works for me.

I just put a 710 into my Emmons p/p. Although it sounds good, I'm not knocked out by it. It's like there are some mids missing now. The Emmons pickup had a better sound, but was too noisy.I haven't tried a 910 yet.

Allan, what is the reason you want to change the p/ups ?
What ohm p/ups are on there now ?
Are they original single coils ?

just my opinion.
For what it's worth, I'd stick to the single coil originals.you'll be glad in the long-run.

The Lawrence 910 is my recommendation for this application, and I have one on my push-pull Emmons so I speak from personal experience. Same great sound but lots more of it and no humming.

Just my 2 cents but,my 1975 emmons push-pull d-10 has the original pick-ups on it and i love em.Im going to keep em on there.

Spend your money on a noise gate and leave the pickups alone.

After all my 'dinging around' with this and that pickup to get that 'magical illusive tone', I finally listened to my friend Johnny Cox who said if you're not recording or playing where the hum of the stock single coil might be a problem, keep the original. For the Emmons p/p, I found the original pickup was ultimately the best sounding in my opinion.

I have a 75PP with stock pick-up's and would not think of changing them.
