How do they lose at 50lb box in their own warehouse?

Guitar Last Seen/Tracked March 16th at a UPS Facility in Chicago, Never made it out to me.

UPS - THE PROBLEM

I have had lots of "opportunities" with UPS – they simply have a problem getting it right on lots of fronts.

Just say FedEx – Had only one problem since I have owned the company and they had me a check in 10 days for fair damages.

I have had an opportunity to go to UPS and found my box just inside the door that they had said was lost for over a week. It was a steel that someone had shipped me.

I don't know how but it ended up on the shippers front door yesterday. Ups dropped it off there.

Your thinking this sounds fishy..... If I did know the whole story of the last 3 weeks and the shipper involved I would think the same thing ... It should be on its way to Chicago again today. Fingerscrossed.

I plan to post the whole saga as soon as the guitar is safely in my home.

I have had an opportunity to go to UPS and found my box just inside the door that they had said was lost for over a week.

I had a similar experience a few years ago with an amp shipped via brown, they couldn't find it and when I went to the local hub to fill out a claim form it was sitting on the floor in the office, damaged from being dropped, and nobody knew it was the package I was looking for, although my name and address were printed clearly on the label!

I have sold numerous items on the forum and usually I ship FEDEX, I did have a Gibson banjo broken BUT Fedex paid off quick and I understand UPS does NOT like to pay claims.. none of them are perfect but no UPS for me...

You used to be able to ship things by Greyhound Bus.
Maybe this is another option ?

If ship something valuable and heavy like a Bigsby, and it is not winter or blazing hot summer, And I am shipping to a direct route coyy in california or oregon or Arizona, I happily use Greyhound. You can leave an exposed handle for ease of carrying. The item is never more than eighteen inches off the ground and you watch it get loaded and the receiver can watch it get unloaded at the other end. A 70 lb pedal steel from Los angeles to Sacramento, next bus out, is about $90.
I do not think I would ship a mica or lacquer guitar on the belly of a Greyhound in the heat of summer or the freezing temps of winter, though.

It's been a few years on this one, but I've got a similar thing happening right now. I bought an early Madison Sho Bud Permanent that was shipped out on the 19th of June. It appears to be a very unmolested early cabinet end Sho Bud.

I received the legs, pedal bar and rods, but the guitar itself is MIA at UPS, and so far no word on whether or not they've got a clue where it is. Very frustrating to say the least....

My fingers are still crossed, but It's not looking good at this point. I'm hoping for a happy ending like Matthew had!
