My first exposure to country music was watching the Porter Wagoner show as a young kid. At first I hated it but it was always on at my house, so I watched it anyway. In a little bit of time I really liked it. To this day I appreciate the simple but tasteful backup licks I heard first on his show. The Porter Wagoner sound remains my favorite. A close second is the sound Johnny Bush put together in the late 60s and early 70s.
