My new Fessy!!

Post by forrest klott »

Hey Guys,

My new Fessy arrived on Thursday from Frenchy's, and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! I wanted to wait a couple of days and play it some before putting anything up here for fear that it might not be all that I expected. I was wrong...It is MORE than I'd ever dreamed of!!!! Hell, I was up at 6:15 this morning playing it without the amp (neighbors, ya know) and I can't think of the last time I did that!! THIS GUITAR ROCKS!!! And growls, and snarls and barks. I think someone on here once said that you'll know five minutes into sitting down at a guitar if it's for you. I think it took about three to know it was comfortable to me and everything fit. As other folks have said, it has kind of a push-pull feel to the tone, and I've never had pickups that I really liked straight out of the box like I do these L910's that are in it. I went out to Ollie Goodrich's place yesterday and picked up a new Steel Driver III and that was the straw that put the camel over the top. Every string rings out and the sustain is UNBELIEVABLE. It's a D10 with 8 and 7 and it's black mica on the top and back apron with gray birdseye on the front apron, and it looks as good as it sounds...I'm proud to be a member of this "Secret Society" as Larry Bell put it!!!

Gotta run, I think I hear my Fessy calling...

Great to hear Skeeter. My "new to me" Fessy is on the way too, I can't wait. If I'm only half as ecstatic as you, I'll be pleased as punch!

910's in my Fessy made me real happy!!! Plays and sounds great, and with Jim Smith's trick of adding a lower rod to a raise rod when you're lowering that string with another lever, I can now lower my 6th string(G#) to F# and have my second pedal raise the lower to A just like on a push-pull Emmons!!

Just got back from a session this morning with one of my Fessy's. Man, after playing Emmon's PP's for 25 years, this thing just kills them for tone IMNSHO. I have never been happier.
