Yes you can, if it's a four door, with room to spare. I absolutly hate taking a steel down and putting in case to drive 4 miles from house to play a gig. It's a lot of trouble and the cases are heavey. I must be getting lazy in my old age.
I always carried my steel set up in my Chevy Z71 four door so when I got this Ford Ranger, I came up with a way to do the same thing. I took those little jump seats out and took a piece of plywood, cut to fit back behind seats and carpeted to look good so steel just sits on it and the front passenger seat keeps the steel from moving. I know most of you don't recommend carrying a steel like this but sure is a lot less trouble when the gig is 10 minutes from house. I can be set up and ready to play in just a few minutes. If out of town, I will pack up. By the way, bed of truck is full of sound equip. _________________ Henry Matthews

I can in my Ranger but it has to be packed up in the cases,I put the Vegas 400 in the front seat, everything else in back.No room fer a gurlfren, she has to ride in the bed with the tailgate down.(Course I tie a rope around her neck just in case she should fall out I wouldn't lose her.) |

I'm tall, is the driver seat all the back? _________________ As I've aged I've wondered why my mental powers haven't expanded like my waist line.

Yes you can! but you have to tell the wife or girlfriend they have to walk or find another means to get there. I would love to be a fly on the wall when you break that news to them. |

I used to haul my Zum set up in an E-150.
I stopped when many screws holding the body together started loosening. IMO they just aren't meant to take those sorts of loads and shaking when set up. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I wouldn't reccommend long hauls even though I do carry it that way if going to Little Rock to play. I-30 all the way.The passenger seat keeps the steel from moving at all, unless you are in an accident of some kind. Still better to me than taking them down and carrying that heavey case. _________________ Henry Matthews
