EMMONS question.
A friend just bought an Emmons S10 6x2. The serial # is 1371 S. Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture. Thanks in advance.

Chas and Jody, you are both saying that there is no "D" at the end of your ser #? You guys are leading this guy astray. His is a single neck made in the MID TO LATE '70's.(I'll look it up and find out exactly). Hence the "S" on the end of his number, not a "D" like you guys have. Am I right or is this a weird deal of some kind?

I also have a "D" on the second fret on my C
6th tuning,,,,is that one of the early models?? or what?. Look up my number,,,
Im back,,the doctors let me out for the weekend,,,but this white jacket with the safety belts restricts my playing,,,,,its a great place,,,it has rubber walls and the acoustics are good. No feedback,,,gotta go the white truck just arrived.
Happy Mothers Day, Hey get me out of here.

Work??? I'm trying to remember what it was like, I've heard that some of it moved back from Canada. It's gotten so "corporate" now, the suits are 'grinding' before they get the quote. How's everything on the west coast? Work good? When you gonna' sell me some old birdseye stuff?
Now why would you want that old birdseye stuff when there's all these really cool modern guitars out there? Whatever happenned to that 427 Chevy? Oh yeah, forgot the D in the number.
Jody, don't forget who wants that guitar, I wonder who got #1400?

Hi Tony,,,,whats happening in Australia??? Chas since we all have serial numbers pretty close to each other,,,I have an idea,
Why dont we all hold hands and the guy on the end stick his finger in the socket. AC DC
Hey Tony,,,you wanna borrow my white jacket??,,,its cool,,,,like being famous,,,people chase after you,, Chas,,why
is a fine player like yourself not working more often? Are those Californians not aware
of good players?. Its the same here,,,most of my friends are deceased. But the living I know act like that as well. They just cant find an affordable resting place. Chas give my best to the "suits".
Bobbe,,,NO D on my guitar,,Where do I look? & what do I do if I find it? can I call you collect? what time? when? Is this a collectors guitar thats worth a ton of money?
Will I get rich if I sell it to Chas???,,,let me know, I need the money.

Jody, No "D"? I'm not real suprised as I just got another Emmons in with NO ser.# at all.I've seen several of these at times. They seem to not be in my Emmons production book either, (why would they be , with no number) The numbers were very much out of order in the 70's. Single necks mostly. There are better ways to tell when they were built than by the numbers. But----- all were great and some were incredible! So who cares, there were no bad ones.

Personally I think there are a lot of Emmons clones out there and they are starting to breed. Maybe one day I will be able to get another one for about $89.95.Jody, No "D"? I'm not real suprised as I just got another Emmons in with NO ser.# at all.

I have no "clone" I recieved my guitar from
Ron Lashley...he personally took it to my home and spent the day with me as well as
overnite. He "mashed" the strings down on my
guitar as I played staight guitar with him.
After we played a while,,,he had dinner with myself and my family,,,he ate 56 meatballs.
I called that night "The Meatball Marathon"
As far as no "D" on my guitar,,,,I had plenty
of those on mny report card when I was young.
And Chas,,,No I dont mean a prostate exam.
I mean "electricity" to kick it up up a notch.
Bobbe,,,you must have gone to a special College to know as much as you do. There is
no end to your talent. You are the Emmons
Guru of Knowledge. No one comes close to you,
Im not being funny,,,I dont mean it the way it sounds, you know what I mean, like a
Professor,,,like the POPE of the steel guitar.Thats a compliment. The others are just priests and Cardinals,,,some are from St.Louis,,,Stan Musial,,Scott De Witt etc.
But as they all say...YOU DA MAN.
Im going for "radiation" and I illuminate in the dark,,can you guys do that?? I play in the dark and Im visible. I light up the room
when I sit down to play. I dont play well but I can "glow in the dark" Moonglow.

Thank you Jody, yes I do know about Emmons guitars, being a dealer and pro player for over 36 years. I could spot a "clone" a mile away. The fact that it has no serial number has nothing to do with that either. Many Emmons guitars have no numbers. I did spot a Emmons a couple of years ago that looked a little weird in a couple of places. Like the wrong year parts mixed together, they were all Emmons parts, but home made as far as the combination, after much grilling, this owner finally stated that he had built the guitar out of scrounged parts. The serial number on this guiotar had one to many numbers in it. Pretty easy to spot! He did do a good job and the guitar sounded great, but I wouldn't have it free. Heritage was gone. There is more to an old Emmons than a series of assorted parts. To Me anyway.

To answer your question,,,the only place to go for this entertainment is at your local
Urologists office.
You have to find one with a small finger,,,
be sure he removes his ring beforehand,.
I cant tell one Doctor from the other,,I can however recognize them by their finger, This
is the "digital age" My doctor had me on the examining table for quite awhile as he "probed" around inside,,,,,he kept saying
"you OK?" I said yes so far OK...he then said
Im almost done..I said good,,,.
About 20 minutes later he was still looking in that area where the sun dont shine,,and said..Ill only be a little longer,,Im having a look around,,,I got ticked off and said,,,
What the Hell are you looking for???????????
A Place To Park?? He gave me a funny look. I guess he found his parking space.

All doctors put on a rubber glove when checking the prostate, but when your doctor puts on a Johnny Mathis record before the exam, it's time to change physicians!!
