Bigsby-Telecaster vibrato tailpiece

Post by Paul Warnik »

Warning to all who may purchase one of these newer model units made in Korea for WD/All Parts and distributed (on E-Bay) by Relic Masters-these trem systems do not mount in workable fashion to the Telecaster without excessive machining-the replacement bridge assembly plate is made of plastic (not metal like the originals) and the center to center measurement of the two holes for sinking the bridge studs is not the same distance as the bridge provided-also the unit sits way too high and the bridge studs had to be countersunk into the body and the bridge plate had to be routed away so that the bridge could lay flush to the body-without machine shop tools like a mill and lathe to operate it would be impossible to set the guitar to play right

Thanks Paul! That's been a pet peeve of mine ever since I bought a new switch-plate for my Tele. Darn thing was NOT the same size as the stock unit! AND thin-cheap plating to boot! Caveat Emptor with some of these suppliers Image
