Hi Guys, Im David.
Ive decided to build my own Lap Steel. Since this is my first attempt to build a guitar so I have some questions..
What kind of wood, which thickness, which length, which pickup- bridge- tuners-and so on..
Im pretty sure its gonna be an old suprodesign with six strings.
Any reply will be greatly appreciated..
Thanx
Dave..

I have a list of some resources on my web site. Definitely check out John Tipka's web site as well - he has an excellent book about this very subject.

David-- What kinds of tools are available and how much knowldge do you havein using them??? Do you have sources from which to get the bridge, nut, keys, etc.???
With table saw, large router, sanders, and drill, I've built some respectable laps. I like a mellow tone and have liked the one which began as a 10 X 36 x 2 piece of mahogany. Inches - sorry I don't know the metrics, off-hand.
Email me and I'll try to give details (maybe some pic's) about the special jigs I made and techniques involved. --Everett
