Music hath the charm to soothe a savage beast, but I'd try a 10mm first.

John Prine and Leo LeBlanc
Was or is John Prine played on the radio in your country?
If it's a yes, than I would like to include him and Leo LeBlanc.

Frank,
When I think of artists I think about their recordings. Having been apart of many road bands, to keep the gig, I usually tried to stay close to the recorded signature steel parts.
Its difficult to interpret what this thread is about after the varying responses....To me, It sounded like you are curious about which players significant styles became signature to the artists sound. These guys certainly created an ID sound for these artists. Most were on your list.
Mooney and Wynn Stewart
Brumley and Buck
Don Helms and Hank Sr.
Little Roy and Eddy Arnold
Johnny Siebert and Carl Smith
Joaquin and Spade Cooley
Lloyd and Paycheck
Weldon and Connie Smith
Hal Rugg and Loretta Lynn
Drake and Tammy Wynette
Charlton and ET
Emmon's and Price
Day and Willie
Sonny and Bill Anderson
Norm and Merle
Paul
