Topic: Any Iowa steel guitar shows this spring??? |

| I know the Quad Cities show used to be around Easter and I heard about a new show in Marshalltown that is also in the spring. Are these happening this year? I've been out of the loop for a while, so I don't know what's happening and what's not. |

The NISGS used to be in spring but was moved to Oct a few years ago. There is a Facebook page as well.

Thanks for the reply, Kevin.
I knew that the NISGS moved, because I went to it in October of 2010. But, I have been so far removed from the steel guitar world that I don't even know if the other shows are still going on. I figured that they would have been announced in this section of the forum if they were, in fact, going to be taking place. I haven't seen any mention of them so I was afraid they might be defunct.
I think that Bruce Czarnetzki used to put on the Quad Cities show and I heard that Vic Switzer put on a show in Marshalltown last year, but I don't know if that was a one time thing or if he was going to make it an annual event. |

Bruce told me he wasn't going to have a show this year - But watch the forum to see if another one pops up in the Quad cities

Dave, so great to see your back in touch with us Iowa steelers. We sure have missed your pickin'. Bring up your guitar and lets pick and kick up some dirt. The Marshalltown show is the first Sunday in May, Produced by Vic and Van Switzer,(which ever one was born first, they still argue over that). Come and lets get strung up.

Thank for the info. I will try to keep that day open. Where is the show located and what time? Is there a website where there is detailed information? You said to bring my guitar, is there jamming at this show? What is the format?
