lending library

Post by basilh »

Because some of the most desirable steel albums are really collectors items, and are mostly only on vinyl,How about the forum setting up a "Lending Library" that contains CDR duplicates of all of the classic steel albums.

It would be well supported by the Trans-Atlantic contingent as there is a virtual lack of availability here in Europe.
It would NOT be necessary to get into a discussion regarding copyright etc. This is not a problem in this instance.

Hi Bas,
Great idea, what about a small contribution when we order them to:
a. Pay a little cash to any needy dependents.
b. help fill the forum coffers.

Hi "Chirpy"
Thanks for the reply an enthusiasm, the company I work for (Stax-A-Trax) is a rental background music company similiar to "Muzak'
and have a license from MCPS to use ANY material, I'm not suggesting that we make it a commercial enterprise but more like the BMG Tape club run by John Marsden.

We could compile the CD's and send them to, say b0b, or whoever wanted to run the library,
a NOMINAL fee of whatever would be acceptable, and the postage is all it would cost forum members.
I would absorb the cost of compiling and producing the compilations. My gain would be obvious, but the members would have to supply the material content, either by supplying albums on CDR or mp3 or uploading the files to our company site.

It's just an idea to get the un-available more available for all.
