I'm realizing my options for replacing strings on an E9 12 string are slim. Where do you guys buy strings? What are good? Who can I order from online? |

Can I use a universal set on an E9 setup? I'm thinking that I can....unless there is a decent set specific to E9 12 strings. |

Sandro, you are looking at a basic E9 set plus a 54 or so for the E and a 40 something for the G#.
If you have a dial caliper or mike, measure them and go with those gauges. Changing gauges may have serious adjustment issues; best to avoid. Buy a couple or three spare thirds, probably .011 or so, while you're at it.
Al Brisco can probably tell you what he put on there.
So, are we having fun yet?

A lot of fun and quickly finding out how far over my head this instrument is. Working thought the deluxe pedal steel book by mel bay while reading through the willie winston book. Good stuff. |
