According to this chart 1979. Last one.
EDIT: In an attempt to eliminate confusion about this chart I've added the following comments to this post since the numbers in the chart should all contain the letter D. Even though they are redundant, I wanted to show all this info in the same post with the chart.

Hi Lawrence,
A lot of the guitars from the early days had invoice numbers, with a totally different numbering system than serial numbers. I have a guitar that's almost a match to yours with invoice number 2891, which I believe is a 1967. I used to own #2768 which is a 1967 black mica bolt-on that now resides with the former owner, Bud Harger in Texas.
Here are a few photos of my white leather mica bolt-on that I restored last year. It's actually not as white as it looks in these photos but is off-white, with a leather-like texture.

Please Note: These serial numbers apply to D-10's only. After each number, the letter "D" is stamped. Great care has been taken to verify the accuracy of this information with various "Push-Pull Experts" around the U.S. However, we cannot guarantee the information given in the above chart is 100% accurate.
In the years 1964 and 1965, it appears that serial numbers were taken off of the sales invoice; and that these guitars were not consecutively numbered (as they may have used an invoice or 2 in between guitar sales for pickup sales or string sales, etc.)
Also, at a certain point, it is possible that the endplates were serialized ahead of guitar construction and put on a shelf, and then taken down and assembled into a guitar at a later date. Therefore, it is possible that some numbers may fall into one year earlier or later than shown on the chart.

That chart pretains to only serial numbers for D-10 guitars built after they stopped using invoice numbers. I've found it to be fairly accruate for the most part.

There were no invoice number guitars in 1964. Invoice numbers were the third numbering system Emmons used and that system did not start until half way through 1965 -- at least after May 1965 guitar #23.

Mine is stamped 1447 D ..... I thought it was a 1971, but now it appears to be a 1970...... will have to change it in my signature!

More information, please. Is it 1002D? Neck configuration? Photo?
Mike Cass and Chris Lucker are as knowledgeable as I, or even more so. I have compiled an incomplete list of the characteristics of early Emmons guitars, which is expanding as I learn the whereabouts of more of these instruments.

No, it is just plain 1002.
This guitar has seen several revisions over the years but I believe it started out with a black wood neck but right now it is China red mica with metal necks with 8 x 5 setup. Nice looking guitar, though.
Since the discussion is Emmons p/p's, here is a picture of the latest edition to the fleet. This is a new p/p with a 30 year old cabinet. I bought this guitar from the Lashleys just a few years ago. It has never been played.
