Repair guy for Fender 2000 ?

Post by Bob Hoffnar »

I'm looking for someone who can set up an old Fender cable system pedalsteel in the NYC or upstate Ny area for a friend.

He would consider shipping the steel to someone who knows how to deal with the cable tuning system if he needs to.

thanks Bob
[This message was edited by Bob Hoffnar on 14 April 2002 at 11:32 AM.]

He is a long way from you, but I would send it to Blackie Taylor. he has been repair for over 40 years and has the backround with Fenders. Unless you can find someone closer, I would really consider sending it to him, he was playing Fenders when they first came out.

The cable system is dirt-simple. If it only needs to be set up (and he has a copedant selected), even a novice could do it in less than an hour! All you have to do is place the loops on the proper pulling fingers, tighten the turnbuckles to remove the slack, and then adjust the phillips screws to tune the pulls. The normal timing and leverage adjustments (required on rod-system guitars) are moot...since there aren't any on the Fender.
