Steinar, Excellent to see you posting and read your words. As Mike said don't over burden your self. This good news comes on a day when I'm waiting for Fed X to drop off a Baritone Weissenborn from Lance White. I'll be thinkng of you when I open the box. Many prayers from brothers and sisters of this forum were answered and now your on the road to recovery.
Keep it up my brother.

That is WONDERFUL news my friend - so glad to hear this..You hang in there - there are many many of your friends here praying very hard for you..

I am so sorry to inform you all that our dear friend Steinar passed away this morning. I just received the following email from his brother:

Hi Mike, I am so sorry to tell you that my very dear brother Steinar passed away for only a few hours ago. His conditions turned rapidly to the worse last night. It came like a great shock to everyone. The few last days ha was up walking, feeling better, and had a hope that he was able to get home to his apartment for a few days. He died piecefully with his family by his side. Dear Mike, you must send a huge thanks to the members of this forum for all the love and support that has been sent to Steinar. It ment a lot to him, and made his days better.

This is such shocking news, I am shaking right now. Thank you everyone for all of the love you gave to Steinar. It really meant so much to him.

I think it time to move this thread now. RIP, Steinar--you were a great man and I'm so happy to have known you and to have heard your music.

This is so shocking and sad. I received an email a short email from Steinar last week asking for my phone number. He wanted to chat once he felt better.

This is tragic.

I saw this thread just a a day ago, and it appeared that things were looking better, and this morning I saw 'RIP' and gasped. I'm in shock.

Prayers, peace and love out to his family and all who knew him. His humanity and humility was evident in his writings here on the SGF, and his musical artistry was wholly evident in not only his playing expertise, but in his wonderful compositions.

A very, very sad day.

I am so sad to hear this. My thoughts are with Steinar's family and close friends.

I never met Steinar in person but from the communication we've had by e-mail over the last few years, and from the generosity with his time and knowledge and musicality he showed to others on forums like this, it is obvious that the world has lost a very warm and caring and generous person, and in addition to that a very fine musician with a big soul and a very personal touch.

Steinar seemed to be a person with the kind of qualities that would make the world a much better place if more people possessed. It seems so unfair that his time on our planet now is up.

I hope you are in a good place Steinar.

My best wishes and condolences to Steinar's family.

i dont know what to add to this except it is unfortunate to lose such a great talent so early, and Steinar was a rare musician in todays world - he cut is own path, made his OWN music, and thats the greatest gift of all.

I hated to see this, but its good to know we were all kept aware of his status by Mike, and that we could give him hope and prayers along the way and let him know we were all pulling for him.
