I have only owned Emmons PSG's. So, what I am about to say is no reflection on any other steel guitar.
I like how they sound, and ease of playability. Mine is gray birdseye mica. I ordered in in 93.
What brand is yours, and why do you like it?
And none of this "because it's black" stuff...

I play a lacquer push pull that has aluminum necks.I like the tone of Emmons guitars and find that their overall dimensions make them very comfortable to sit behind.
Only other guitar I desire is a a lacquer push pull with wood necks. |

Mike I know where there is a lacquer P/P with wood necks for sale. Send me a PM and I'll give you the information on it.
I have a P/P from the mid '70's that is my only play out guitar. I have an '74 MSA S12, set up as a 10 string E9, that I keep set up in the house for practice. Both are great for my purpose's.
My music room is in the basement so that keeps me from having to carry them up and down very often. |

I have played several steel guitar brands but I love the Emmons playability, sound and dependability. I have a 1973 Emmons P/P I bought in 73 and I would not trade it for anything out there, love that guitar, it sure is a beauty, Shorty

Jerry, I'm glad you like it. It is still the best Emmons I have ever played. Don't guess you'd sell er' back to me...

I just recently bought my first Emmons, a maple D-10. It is now the primary guitar that I play onstage. Only drawback is that in the road case, it is very heavy. Thank goodness for wheels! There is a case company near where I live that says they can build me a road case that is twice as light as mine, but is much stronger. That might be an option. |
