Hi Lee,

I am using the G tuning on first string here because it is standard. However I also use the D note on my own steel sometimes.

That is a matter of personal taste. I personally like the D note on top but most players still have the high G.

Thanks!

C6th course

Post by Dennis Ellerbee »

Terry, I ordered your course and will offer some feeback. First of all like the other guy said, you play the C6th on a 12 string which can be confusing. You only have seven pedals. The camera does not stay in focus well, and there is too much editing on the DVD. The material you teach is helpful, but I was hoping for more of what chords can be found by using each pedal, not playing songs. I can learn the songs, but need to know what each pedal can give me. I will keep the DVD, but was disappointed with the quality.

The relationship between C6th and B6th are the same. There is only one frets difference and the pedals are the same.

Thanks!

If you want to learn songs and intros like Hank Thompson's Oklahoma Hills and the Western Swing style of playing steel, this is your steel DVD instructions.

It teaches the inro to the song "Nightlife," and Curly Chalker's intro to Steelin' The Blues.

It is a very good steel DVD course for $23.

Thanks!

Terry you completely ignored the comment from Dennis. Are you teaching on a 12 string guitar, and are the frames occasionally out of focus? Are you only teaching 7 pedals, and not any chord theory?
