Tommy White with Allison Moorer

Post by Bill Miller »

Just found this, hope it hasn't been up already. It's just beautiful, vocally and Tommy's steel is beyond perfect.

I didn't know that. She has an amazing voice. Most of her material on YouTube seems to have all acoustic backup. I'd love to hear more of her with pedal steel.
I don't believe I've seen Tommy White playing that Sho~Bud before. Nice.

The more I hear Tommy play, the more I know why he's my favorite.

Thanks Bill for that link!
Two of my favourites.
This is a case where ALL those on stage are great musicians which is not always the case.
Tommy really sets the standard these days.

It's not Tommy in this one, but this song by Allison is the one that really caught my ear years back:

Same song as in Richard's link, just another fine (live) version. Steel solo in lieu of a fiddle.

The video you posted do ya know who the steel player is?? or anyone. The steel he`s playing looks like a Sierra Keyless? sure looks like it, sounds sweet.

Kevin, She was in the movie "the horse whisperer" singing a soft place to fall. The barn dance scene where she is singing is one of the best parts in the movie.

The Movie you were referring to was the Horse Whisperer.

Great movie and that is where I got hooked on her music.

The song that she wrote and performed in that movie "A Soft Place to Fall" was nominated for an oscar and she got to perform it the night of the awards show.
