How much does a Session 500 weigh?

I have an interested party in Eric West's old Session 500 http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=216345

I need to do a shipping estimate and can't find how much it weighs. The manual I downloaded does not list the physical specifications. I am not in Oregon to weigh it and it's too heavy for Eric's Mom.

I would say at least 80lbs - they are monsters.

Too heavy to safely ship, in my opinion.

Personally, I'd only consider shipping one if the speakers were removed, bolted to a board of plywood and shipped in a separate carton from the amp.

They make great home or church amps where they NEVER have to get lugged around.

Actually, according to by digital bathroom scale, the average of 2 samples was 79.6 lbs. with the remote inside.

I weighed mine to ship and it was 84lbs packed.

Wow! Haven't thought of her in a long time. Wasn't she married to Lance Alworth of the Dallas Cowboys? I have a Steel King and a Session 500...the King is 75 lbs. and the Session is significantly heavier.

I just shipped a Vegas 400 the bare amp weighed 67 lbs. exactly so 75 or 80 sounds more probable. hope that helps. Jerry

OK 2 close. Eric's mom was able to get it weighed. Came in at 85 pounds.

I sat mine on my old antique doctors scale and it weighed in at 85 lbs.

These amps might have differeent weights if they have different speakers inside. Also depends on how many buckeyes you have stored in the bottom of the cabinet to soak up the "highs".

Didn't the 500 have 2 different cabinet sizes throughout it's production life? Seems I read that here. Could that be the difference in the weights?

I do have the Black Widow in mine if it determined that's the difference for the varying weights.

I reset and weighed it twice on a digital scale at 79.8 and 79.4 then averaged it at 79.6 with remote.
