It might to felicitous to explore the obverse: Steelers and their stars. That's the way I've always thought of it.
Buddy and Dickens, Price, McCall, Tubb, Miller...
Weldon and Bush, Smith, Moe & Joe...
Lloyd and Paycheck, Pride, Anderson, McCartney...
Talk amongst yourselves.

Hank Thompson, Pee Wee Whitewing, Bob White, Curly Chalker.
Carl Smith, Johnny Sibert, Jim Murphy.
Hank Snow, Jimmy Crawford, Kayton Roberts.
And as in the C# method (session players), Pete Drake, Lloyd,Hal, Weldon, Garrish and a cast of thousands.
As I understand the topic it's about stars and THEIR STEELERS. To my thinking that would mean steel players that had at one of point been in the employee of one of these artist not someone that played on many different artist records. For example, Hal Rugg was definitely the sound behind Loretta Lynn but he never worked for her on the road. So with that said When I think Loretta steelers I think Bob Hempker. Bob was there the longest during her biggest career years. Just the way most folks in the biz look at it.

Music hath the charm to soothe a savage beast, but I'd try a 10mm first.
