Shenandoah is hands down my favorite traditional tune. I just can't get tired of its beautiful melody and simple but emotionally resonant chord changes. A lot of other people seem to feel that way too and it's interesting to compare how players approach it.

For my taste, Jo Stafford's is the definitive vocal version.

It's hard to come close to the beauty of Johnny Smith's version from his 60s solo guitar LP.

Johnny Bellar is a true resophonic virtuoso and I love what he does with the tune.

That sounds good,Andy. I like those chord voicings you were getting towards the end of the tune. Well done!

Andy, if you get a chance, watch this version by Frisell. It is really great.

I like this Lanois and Emmylou treatment, too:

Lovely. Nobody has Frisell's feel, Mike. He has a unique voice in music.

Two more uniquely beautiful versions ...

Charlie Hayden and Pat Metheny (Pat or Jerry Douglas on resophonic?)

I like your lap steel recording of the tune, Andy. Like Anthony said, the chord voicings at the end are really nice!
