I have Windows 7 and have been using IE9 since it came out last year. It is supposed to be more secure than older versions. But, it is not for Windows XP users. You must have Vista/Win 7.

I have it on my laptop with Vista and it is very ugly in my opinion. I hate it worse than IE8. All of the IE versions suck when compared to Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.

If it's any consolation, I only use IE to view websites I am working on, for code compatibility. I never use it to browse the Internet.

On my two remaining Windows XP Pro machines, I only use IE to get Windows Updates.

The only way I would revert to using IE is if Firefox was gone.

Looks like this thread went "off topic". The question was about I.E.9, not about Firefox or which browser is better.

As far as IE 9 goes, compared to older versions, it is better at rendering modern coding on modern websites. It contains some facets of CSS 3, or advanced CSS 2. It uses better security models than older versions.

Some websites composed using the obsolete FrontPage program will only display certain features in the IE browsers. IE 9 continues to display FP web controls and ActiveX Controls.

If one wants to use Internet Explorer, one should upgrade to the most current version allowed for one's operating system. This leaves IE 9 out for Windows XP users. If you run Vista or Windows 7 you can and should upgrade to IE 9.

Note, if you use Quickbooks, or certain tax programs (professional or otherwise), some are written for specific versions of IE. If upgrading your browser breaks these applications, you must upgrade to a newer version of said programs. In the case of professional tax and book keeping software, the upgrades can cost thousands of dollars.

Same here Wiz. I wish IE in all it's forms would just go away.
