I am looking to learn again as life got into the way of my learning for the past 2 years. Anyway, at 36 I am looking to get back at it, I currently have a Marlen s10 pull release with a GL E 66 pickup. My problem is in replacing the strings and tuning, the closest steel shop is over an hour away, so I thought I'd just upgrade to an all pull changer. I am looking at an older Marlen all pull or an MSA, any ideas on which way to go? Any input on which to get would be appreciated. Should I go new? Thanks Mike

You should take an afternoon off and go to the steel shop. Check out all the instruments there and see which one appeals the most to you.

If your pull-release Marlen plays in tune, why not keep it? I loved the tone of mine; I only ditched it for a push-pull D-10 Emmons.
