Jeremy, I kinda know, but will let Bill Cook post the answer Monday. We're trying to offer a discount to ASGA Members and possibly pre-sells if we can get it together quick enough. After hearing you play at our last jam, your worth at least $20.00/head for admission! Really look forward to hearing your slot! So are alot of other people. You'll turn alot of heads when you play. Glad you're part of the show!! Image

UPDATE! (Check out the Dec 4th posting for the complete updated listing)

The ledgend -- DON HELMS (Hank Williams steel guitarist)--is now confirmed to play!! ASGA President Bill Cook has lined up one of the best steel guitar lineups anywhere and he's still going after the great Nashville session super player MIKE JOHNSON!! Can anything stop "Da Man" Bill Cook? HA HA

Seriously...January 19-20 will be one of the finest steel guitar shows anywhere featuring some of the greatest steel guitar players; country singers; and backup bands.

Excitment is growing for the Saturday night "CLASSIC COUNTRY CONCERT!" that will close out our ASGA Steel Guitar Festival. LANEY HICKS from Nashville, will headline this exciting 90 minute country classic concert. Opening the concert will be several super talented country singers and bands.

OK'd the T-shirts for the show. The Bishop did a fine job with the artwork! Short and long sleeves. We have two colors that best complimented the graphics.

The back up band is "The Alabama Super Pickers". These guys are geared up for whatever you want to throw at 'em. There will also be some additional musicians playing that will knock your socks off.

We have several excellent vocalist that will perform. I know of a young lady from Hoover High that is one of THE BEST country singers anywhere. We hope to have confirmation by the end of the week if she will be able to attend. It would be a treat for any steeler to back this singer.

This show has the makings for one of the best that's been around the Southeast in a long time. We don't have the Choo Choo anymore, or anything like this around this part of the country. This is a labor of love for the volunteers and the Founder, Bill Cook. Yes, we need your support for this to be successful and to continue. Last year was a huge success and all indications are that this year will be as well. However, the larger the participation from our "Southeast Steel Guitar Community", the bigger, better and more value can be provided next year. If you plan to attend the show, the seminar, the swap shop, or whatever, provide us your feedback and input. Let us know if you plan to attend our event. Let folks know if you have something you might have to trade at the show. Let someone know what you might be looking for to buy, or trade. We hope that there are so many friends, old and new, that we all make plans to do it again next year and bring some friends.

Yep Mike, it's getting closer! Image

Earnest, Merry Christmas! There's parking available. Like in many metro areas, parking for hotels is at a premium. Parking is included in the hotel room rate.

Earnie,

The Civic Center has parking to accomodate every event at thr BJCC (B'ham Jefferson Civic Center). There is meter parking on the streets (you don't need to pay the meters on Saturday; if meter parking Friday, you'll need to put in your change). There are also parking decks and other free parking.

I would suggest finding the exhibition hall we will be hosting the show and parking near that entrance. The parking will be most difficult Friday up until 5 pm. After 5 pm, parking should be easier.

If any body has an old LTD 400 cabinet they want to get rid of. Bring it to the swap meet with a reserved for Mike Sweeney tag.

Please disregard. I found one here in town. Thanks!

Guy's this is going to be a great show. Everyone that can should try to make this one. They've got some top-notch players lined up. The "Classic Country" should be a treat in it's self. I was fortunate enough to play with Laney at the last show, and she is one of the best female singers around. With all the talent booked, this could be one of the biggest shows of the year.

Peavey battery-less mods at the show

Post by Ken Fox »

I just booked a room and will get a table for Profex 2 and other processor mods. Due to the time and test equipment it takes, we will not be doing amps at the show or repairs on battery damaged Profex and other processor.

We should be there Friday afternoon.

I have a limited amount of chips and will bring all I have for the show.

Come on by and we can chat about the amp mods as well.
