Need Steel Player

Post by W. C. Edgar »

I just returned in December from 10 shows in 10 cities in 10 days Touring Spain.
My music speaks for itself so please don't criticize me unless you can succeed what I'm doing. I play festivals/casinos & everything in between and write all of the music that I record. So far I've toured Australia/France/Spain and most every State in the lower 48. If you have a great day job with lots of bills and a kid in college this is probably not the gig for you. Looking for non smokers and non drug users as I treat this like a business. Pay depends on the gig. You must have reliable transportation and equipment. This is a great gig for someone perhaps not married that is looking to improve their skills on stage with a good singer songwriter that has been around the block a time or two.
I will not respond to posts left on this site but I will respond to email as well as phone messages. Again, I have used players before that I had met on the forum and they didn't work out usually because they really couldn't play as good as they boasted they could and/or had numerous personality/substance abuse problems. On the other hand I've used some that played their rears off. I'm also a steel player and will help a guy that really wants to get better make the most of this gig. I am based currently within 78 miles of the center of the United States. Check out my website at the link below where I have live video as well as about 15 of my self penned songs for you to listen to. All of the feature the great Mike Johnson on them and NO I don't expect anyone to be able to play it note for note. (Hell, I can't either).

I have been getting some calls already but if you have some chops, play in tune and want to learn in a 'live' situation this may be the way to do it rather than in your bedroom or at a 'jam' session where you're not making any money.
I am located in Kansas and it would work easily for someone in the surrounding States. I may add that once you know the show there is NO rehearsal because either you can play or you can't. When I can, I'll help you out with fuel costs to get to where we leave from and sometimes we may be able to pick you up depending on what our route is that trip and other times you may be closer to just meet me at the gig. Back when I played for ex-Garth Brooks sideman Ty England I drove back and forth between my place and where Ty lived in Oklahoma City every week we played and did it for 3 years. I have 2 self penned CD's out right now and the first one 'Alcohol Of Fame' even featured my buddy Daryle Singletary on a song with me. The newest self penned CD is called 'Old School Survivor' and has been selling great since it's release last May and is available everywhere from iTunes/Yahoo/Amazon/Rhapsody/CD Baby/CD Universe/Honkytonkin Music.com plus about one hundred other places world wide. It was also added last month to Channel 811 'Honky Tonk Tavern' on DIRECT TV. Whatever your situation, don't sell yourself or your talent short. If you would like to see if I can play or not please feel free to go to www.youtube.com and type in WC Edgar Steel Guitar and I'm sure you'll find something. Oh, I'm also the guy that started the company www.steelseat.com Have a great day and keep steelin! WC

I don't play steel well enough to take the job but I like your music and enjoyed hearing you play steel the one time I got to hear you live. If you book any work in Missouri please let me know as I would like to catch your show.

I have decided to drop the steel guitar from my show due to the fact that there are no steel players within 3 hours of me that need a job. Thanks for any and all input.
