Tony I have my eye on it and from what I see over this way it is going to warm up a little after this weekend over on this side. It should be Ok by the time the Steel jam comes around.I'm going to be watching it close up to the day after the Steel Jam as I have to come thru those mountains to get back home.

tri cities jam

Post by Ray Anderson »

Hey Fellas,I have never been to one of these and am oblivious as what to expect at this event. Is this a casual event where everybody sets up and sort of "noodles at will" and hopefully get some instruction from others and trade licks and runs etc. I have been learning for 14 months and don't feel qualifed to play or even be called a player but I know I can pick up some valuable knowledge from those that can.Maybe someone will chime in and give some foreknowledge on this. Thought maybe I would just leave my gear home and go check it out and just listen, but I would hate driving that far and miss out on a good opportunity. Help me out on this. :?:

Ray, each player plays 3 songs per round either with tracks or a live band, his choice. You can ask question about runs, licks, equipment, whatever you want to know. Bring your guitar and play. Doesn't matter how long you've played. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing everybody again.

Ray I suggest you bring your Equipment and set up and do what you can. If you look around and maybe get some one aside they may be able to help you out. I'm not that good at all but I will show you some things you can pick up on.

I might have a problem playing as I do not have my Steel Right now.It is over to my friend Ray Walkers and he was trying to fix two nicks in it and I won't be getting it back until Monday. That means I'm going to have to practice all night Monday and then Tuesday and Wedensday day and night.I have not had it to play since a week ago Friday and I sure miss playing it.

I am still planning on being there and I will be bringing a selection of my products. I have several of my courses, CDs, strings and more on special right now.

Ray, you had asked about questions? Let me say that I will be happy to answer anything I can concerning steel guitar.

I hope to see many of you there.

Hey Mike or Tony, is there places to eat close by? Also will there be coffee or drinks? As good as it is, man cannot live by steel music alone. Pete Taylor

I'm wondering if we could get Herbie to bring up a Mullen to Demo? Rp or G2, good either way; There might be one of those in my future, just waiting for the economy to settle to whatever direction it is going.Would just like to see and hear if they are what they say they are.

Pete, there's 4 places close to eat. The good O' McDonalds, Subway, Pals and Lynn Garden restaraunt. I don't know if anybody's bringing coffee or not.
