So this guy I know said to me..."I like drinking ten beers, putting on a dress and hanging out in the bad part of town" I replied, "Soon you won't need the ten beers".
Just sayin'

Suddenly I'm glad I don't drink, have a dress, or even a bad part of town to hang out in. JS'n.

Jeff... Been there, done that. It sometimes helps to cleanse my soul. That combination and listening to the greats with headphones is heaven.

And, when I drink and wear a dress, I usually like to hang out in the good part of town. Nobody notices me in the bad parts.

Country music sounds better when you're drunk; i.e. it sounds worse when you're sober.

An often repeated phrase from the bandstand:

"The drunker you are, the better we sound and the drunker we are, the better you look! Don't foget to tip your bartenders! It's thier birthday, all of them!"

But honestly, there is something magical about music you love with a little bit of booze mixed in...

It helps to feel connected with the music. I like hearing a sad ol' song that brings a tear to your eye when you've got a few in ya, and your sitten alone in a dimly lit room. I prefer that over the bar anyday.

I have to admit, the first time I ever got buzzed on beer, I was at a friend's house, I was alone in the den because everyone had retired to the back.
I found a Tammy Wynette album, I think it was "Stand by Your Man". I played that thing over and over until I passed out.
It was truly a life changing experience.
Here's to drinking and listening to country music.

Well, I don't drink anymore....(than I use to).
Don't wear dresses either..( They don't fit anymore)..
And I'm already in the bad part of town..
Never listen to country music unless I'm alone (or with somebody)..

Back in the early '70s, I used to drink a bit. I also despised country music. One time, when I was on the floor, someone had put Waylon Jenning's Honky Tonk Heroes on the turntable and then they all went out for lunch or dinner. It kept playing over and over and I couldn't get up to turn it off. So I started listening and, in particular, I listened to Ralph Mooney's guitar playing. It was like nothing I had ever heard and I was hooked. I bought every album that had a pedal steel on it, that I could find and then, about 5 years later, I bought my 1st pedal guitar, a single neck PP, from Red Rhodes.

After some decades of playing and a whole lot of live recording I can tell you for sure I'd rather be drunk listening to me playing sober than sober listening to me playing drunk.
