The first thing that comes to mind is to add a dominant 7th to the basic open position C chord.... C7. But it can also function with other pedals & lever to add chord colors.

Some of my uses for it are with pedal 6 to get a dominant 11th (root on s.9)...
... with pedal 5 to get an augmented (#5) chord.
... with pedal 8 for a [dom.7th b9] chord

Hmmm... I like that idea also. What remains to be seen is how fast the change is accomplished, compared to the quickness of a footpedal.

What would be the disadvantages of raising 8 and half tone with 4 on RKR? I have that on one of my guitars (the one I'm not gigging with anymore) and it seemed handy for a lot of things I have to play.
I have that feel stop going up to B on that guitar too, I prefer the speediness of that change on pedal 4 though. |

I was once told this was the Big E's C6th set-up (and have my PP set up this way):
Lowers to the Left
Raises to the Right
4th string Left Knee Left = A to Ab (Lower)
4th string Left Knee Right = A to Bb (Raise)
Same set-up on 3rd string:
3rd string Right Knee Left = C to B Lower
3rd string Right Knee Right = C to C# Raise |

I also have that on a KL. I got use to it quick! I've got it on both A strings...I had to experiment with string gauges on the lower A to get it timed right and in tune. (a .046W in my case) It frees up pedal 4, and I've found so many other pedal combinations to use it with that I couldn't without using 2 feet! |

Like Ebb wrote, I have that change on my lkl (as a half stop raising both A's to B). With the Bb, there are a number of nice things you can do: it offers the opportunity for some nice dominant 7th voicings as well as a suspended 7th chord when used with the C pedal; when used with the B pedal, you have an augmented seventh. Also, when playing fast (or not), you have a nice half-step between the Bb and the B (lowered C string). I like it as a knee lever because I can use it in more combinations that way.
