The ultimate tone

Post by Bill Dobkins »

We have often discussed what our favorite tone is.
The Steel is this song is mine. I found this Casette at a truck stop in Wyoming several years ago. Its called Big City. I have never heard this song on any of Merls Records except this one. The regular Big City CD dosen't have this song on it(I don't think)I could be wrong..Info please. I take it that this is Norm Hamlet on this song. At any rate the tone is to die for. Take a listen....

Wow. That was great. I'm only familiar with the version from Merl's 1965 album "Strangers". That one has a way different feel (and no steel guitar). Loving this version... thanks for posting it!
