Wow that's a cowboy sound!! It should make a very good first song for a live show!

Not Frankie - it was Vaughn Monroe. The song was written in the early 50's for a Gene Autry movie of the same name, so, not old at all for a cowboy song. - Jack

More on Stan Jones' "Ghost Riders"

Post by Jay Seibert »

I'm happy to say that I am good friends with and play music often with Keeter Stuart, Stan Jones' nephew who lives in Portland, Oregon. Keeter is keeping the Stan Jones song writing tradition alive and well by writing and performing some mighty fine western music himself.

You can catch Keeter in Portland on Tuesday nights at Duff's Garage... and his web site is; http://www.keeterstuart.com .

You can give a listen by going here; http://www.keeterstuart.com/music.html

Of course Keeter has his own version of his uncle's song and you can hear it on the link above and on one of Keeter's fine cd's. Tell him I sent you!
