Miss Lana,
Thanks so much for your support. I will keep you informed of our progress. You are so kind to help us.
Dr. Rickles,
I responded to your off-net E-Mail and it keeps coming back. Please send another E-Mail so we can determine whose end has the problem.
Frank,
I envision starting with some conference calls. First meeting place will be determined from input from those calls.
FIRST LADY LANEY:
Will reply to your post later when I have more time. We are truly Blessed to have you as our FIRST LADY.
Thanks to everyone for the support, encouragement/ and kind words. I hope this Association gets so big that we can afford to bring Fred Justice in for a jam. Thanks again, to all.

Laney,
Believe me!!!!! The Pleasure was all mine. I just had to do something when Russ posted that he "Might let you sing one or two". Bet he will be more careful with his words when it comes to you and The State of Alabama. I sincerely hope that you enjoy being the "FIRST LADY" of "THE ALABAMA GANG" as much as we enjoy having you. We will put our "FIRST LADY" up against any other Steel Club any where. We are proud to have you. When you get a hold of Alma please point her in our direction. I believe without fear of being too far wrong that she needs to be in "THE ALABAMA GANG". Thank you for all you do in supporting our beloved instrument. I will keep you informed of our progress. Until next time, Bill and "THE ALABAMA GANG".

I haven't paid my dues yet (bring me a membership form to Hollonville!), but I second Bill's nomination for President!

Roger, Thanks much. I will bring some applications Sunday to the Jam. My last posting didn't come out like I wanted. Anyone can be nominated for President of the forming ASGA. Wanted to make that clear. We only have one nomination as of this date. We need more.
Thanks again Roger and will see yall Sunday.

I'm glad to see there are quite a few guys interested in the ASGA. It's good to see things are happening, so here's a bump.

Mr. Ron,
We are in the forming mode but are shooting for our first Super Jam on February 26, 2005, at the Hank Williams Museum, Downtown Montgomery, Al. I will keep posting as we progress. We will be honored to have you as one of our very special guests. Thanks again and I will keep you informed.

Hey Bill, are you planning a meeting in December to establish charter and such? I would like to attend if possible, but need some wiggle room for planning. I hope there are plans to feature some of great steelers in our state. Many I don't know and would sure like to meet, watch and hear play. I know Bill Simmons isn't from Alabama, but he's ours for now; Rick Byrd and Jack Williams are two great players.I bet we could get some other great players from Mississippi like Bill Stafford, Billy Carr,RJ Buras, Danny Harrell, etc. They would be great people to contact to offer ideas on the success of their club. That DSSGA has a great club. I bet Mark Van Allen and others might be interested as well. Let me know! Thanks for initiating this club. I think Hank would be proud.

Bill. it being at the Hank Williams Museum, Don Helms would be a great one, and he is from Alabama also. Just a thought. IF Don is available, he and I could travel together. Thanks again for your kind post, and thanks to all the Alabama members and players for letting me horn in. Thanks Bill. Ron E

Just a tid bit on Ron Elliott.

When Ron and I worked for Music City Mfg in Nashville, he and Leslie came to Fayette with us one week-end and Ron and I backed up a guy name Jack Barlow, with the band I played in. Ron was the Steeler and I was the drummer that night. That was around 75-76.

I know he has played the Bama theater in Tuscaloosa with Charlie Louvin.

Lets get Ron and Don on stage together in Montgomery, man that would be a blast.

Two great Steelers and Two great people.

Bill, let me know about the ASGA, I am interested also.

Hey Bill...you are moving right along with our new ASGA! Great job...as Tim Bridges said, "I'm now in Alabama."

There are a lot of fine players that I'm meeting weekly here in the Birmingham region. Last Monday played a steel jam in the area with four steel players!
