Carter D-10 no nylon pedal nut on E9 7th strg---C6 1st strg?

Post by Susan Conway »

Hi Fellas,
I just got this guitar and I'm trying to figure it out and begin learning on it too.

I noticed there is no nylon pedal adjuster not on the E9 neck at the 7th string and also on the C6 neck at the 1st string.

I know this may seem obvious to many but I'm a newbie and I'm wondering why only these 2 strings on the different necks? Is it that there is any pedal assigned to these string positions normally?

This D-10 has 8 pedals and 5 levers.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Susan

The standard tuning on Carter's has no changes on either of these strings. You're not missing anything if that's your concern...

You guessed it. There are no pulls on these strings so no nylon nuts are required for them.

You could have pills installed on these strings at some future point, but for now, you need to concentrate on learning the basics.

For whatever it's worth, I learned from Winnie Winston's book.

I'm looking for some really good teaching methods. Thanks for the info on Winnie Winston's book too.

What pills do you recommend, doc?
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects
