My daughter is doing a study abroad program this year in Europe and I'm going over for a visit during Christmas. It would be fun to meet some European steelers! We'll be in Vienna December 24th to 26th, Munich December 27th to 29th and Strasbourg the 30th and 31st.

A friend of mine from Nashville will be in Munich December 29th at The Oklahoma Saloon. His name is Jim Hampton and he is c-o-u-n-t-r-y. He´ll be playing solo acoustic, just him and a J-45. The Oklahoma is a really cool acoustic venue too. Very intimate, great sound. Tell Ali howdy from the hillbilly!

Hey Charlie,
If your travels to Vienna and Munich allow you time in England, here are some names to look for -- all great Pedal Steel players.
Dave Nash , Spencer Scott , Peter Jones ,
Tony Smart , Bob Hascal , John Davis , and Micky Byrne to name a few. And the Gentleman who taught Sarah Jory for many years , Ken Byng.
Happy travels --- Phillip.

Thanks for all the replies! Unfortunately I won't have much time in England but I did contact Walter Stettner and he replied with a very nice email. If the schedules work out we may have a chance for a visit. Scott, the Oklahoma Saloon in Munich sounds like big fun. And CrowBear, I will shoot André Kohler an email.

There is a Lawyer from Strasburg that plays steel in a group. I met him when we were on a D.O.D. tour playing in Burchesgaden, Germany.Don't remember his name. He sat in with us for a couple songs. Good picker and nice guy. BOB
